Shaheed El Hafed, April 10, 2025 (SPS) – The Polisario Front expressed its regret over the position articulated by the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, considering it contrary to international legitimacy.
In a statement concluding the work of the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, chaired by the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, President of the Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali, the Polisario Front conveyed its profound disappointment regarding the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State’s remarks, which contradict international legitimacy as embodied in the resolutions of the United Nations General Assembly, the Security Council, and rulings issued by African and European international courts.
The Permanent Bureau reaffirmed the Sahrawi side’s rejection of any solution outside the framework of international legitimacy, which is founded on the sanctity of the Sahrawi people’s right to self-determination, independence, and sovereignty, as well as respect for human rights and democratic principles—the cornerstone of any just and lasting resolution.
