Shaheed El Hafed, March 29, 2025 (SPS) – The Sahrawi News Agency (SPS) celebrates today, Saturday, its 26th anniversary of establishment, at a time when the Sahrawi people and the entire world are facing significant challenges, including the intensification of the conflict with the occupying power and global crises resulting from wars.

Alongside covering these developments, the Sahrawi News Agency continues its struggle alongside the Sahrawi people to confront the conspiracies of the Moroccan occupation and its brutal war against them. Committed to "credibility, responsibility, and professionalism," SPS works to deliver information to its audience in a timely manner, while exposing the Moroccan regime’s human rights violations in Western Sahara and denouncing its crimes against the activists of the Independence Intifada.

Like other Sahrawi media outlets, the Sahrawi News Agency aims to elevate national media work to keep pace with all developments, particularly the central cause of the Sahrawi people’s struggle to reclaim their inalienable right to self-determination and independence—a right that the Moroccan occupier, with the complicity of certain major powers, continues to deny, despite recognition by the international community and the African Union since the 1960s.

The establishment of a Sahrawi news agency aimed at gathering and disseminating information and positions expressed by the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi government (March 29, 1999) via fax and amateur radio came after years of relying on "statements and communiqués" and a "semi-official narrative." Over time, it evolved into a professional news agency. Today, SPS provides its services online (in French, Spanish, Arabic, English, and Russian), publishing news through its website, fax, and email subscription services.
