Shaheed El-Hafed, March 26, 2025 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, chaired a meeting of the committee responsible for monitoring and supporting Sahrawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons.
The meeting, held at the headquarters of the Sahrawi National Committee for Human Rights, evaluated the work accomplished at both national and international levels to secure the release of all Sahrawi political prisoners, emphasizing the necessity of formulating a joint action plan to achieve this goal.
Representatives from various institutions, bodies, and organizations related to human rights participated in this meeting.
In his speech during the meeting, President Brahim Ghali stressed the role of the campaign and the importance of engaging in it, especially in solidarity with Sahrawi political prisoners and raising awareness of their suffering in the absence of international monitoring mechanisms.
After praising the sacrifices of Sahrawi activists in the occupied territories despite Moroccan repression, the President of the Republic called on “all Sahrawis, wherever they are, to mobilize and organize demonstrations and solidarity gatherings with Sahrawi political prisoners, to expose the repressive and terrorist policies of the Moroccan occupying state and to break the blockade imposed on the occupied territories of the Sahrawi Republic.”
