Bern (Switzerland), March 19, 2025 (SPS) – The Swiss capital, Bern, witnessed a solidarity day today, Wednesday, demanding the release of Sahrawi political prisoners, organized by the Swiss Committee in Support of the Sahrawi People.

The event, held in the main square in the city center, attracted widespread public attention. It included an open exhibition to raise awareness about the Sahrawi cause, a display of photos of the prisoners, and a signature campaign aimed at pressuring for their release, which will later be submitted to parliamentarians in Bern.

Members of the Sahrawi community in Switzerland participated in this solidarity day, alongside prominent Sahrawi activist and human rights defender, Ghalia Abdallah Djimi, who traveled from the occupied territories to provide a firsthand account of the suffering of the prisoners and their families, as well as the ongoing violations against them.

This event is part of a series of awareness-raising activities organized by the Swiss Committee in various Swiss cities, as part of its ongoing efforts to defend the rights of the Sahrawi people and denounce the violations they face.
