Moscow, 20 February 2025 (SPS) – Moscow, 20 February 2025 (SPS) – The Communist Party Communists of Russia (CPCR) has reaffirmed its steadfast position on the Sahrawi issue and its principled support for the Polisario Front and the struggle of the Sahrawi people until their right to freedom and independence is realized.

This came during a meeting between the Chairman of the Central Central Committee of the CPCR, Sergey Malinkovich, and the Polisario Front's representative in Russia, Ali Salem Mohamed Fadel, at the party's headquarters.

The meeting allowed for discussions and the exchange of views on several issues of mutual interest, including the latest developments related to the Sahrawi issue and the situation of the United Nations peace process, particularly in light of the Moroccan occupying state's violation of the ceasefire on November 13, 2020, and the current situation in the region. This is due to Morocco's disregard for international legitimacy and its intransigence on one hand, and the protection it receives from influential powers in the Security Council – particularly France – on the other.

Sergey Malinkovich reaffirmed his party's unwavering position on the Sahrawi issue and its principled support for the Polisario Front and the struggle of the Sahrawi people until their right to freedom and independence is achieved. He recalled that the (CPCR) was the first Russian political party to declare its position on the Sahrawi issue and its readiness to raise awareness about the Sahrawi struggle on the Russian stage and even on international platforms. He emphasized that the doors of the party are open to the militants of the Polisario Front.

Both sides stressed the importance of continuing cooperation and consultations between the two organizations. The Russian party also affirmed its commitment to visiting Sahrawi refugee camps and participating in international solidarity platforms in support of the Sahrawi people's struggle.
