Algiers, January 29, 2025 (SPS) - The National Construction Movement of Algeria praised today, Wednesday, the new victory for the Sahrawi people regarding the French Council of State's decision that requires all products coming from Western Sahara to carry a special label indicating the country of origin.
This decision compels France to respect and implement the historic ruling of the European Court of Justice issued on October 4, 2024, which affirmed that Western Sahara is not part of the Kingdom of Morocco and clarified the legal status of the region.
In its statement, the movement noted that this decision represents a confirmation of the obligation for European countries to apply this ruling, thereby enhancing the protection of the natural resources of the Sahrawi people from systematic exploitation by the Moroccan occupying state.
The National Construction Movement expressed its appreciation for the European Parliament's Committee on International Trade, which called for a meeting with a delegation from the Polisario Front to discuss the recent decisions of the European Court of Justice.
