Boujdour (Refugees Camps), 6 January 2025 (SPS) - Several militants and foreign supporters attending the International Solidarity Conference with Sahrawi people, held in Boujdour (the Sahrawi Refugees Camps), called Sunday on the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the Sahrawi cause.

In a statement to APS, as part of the works of this conference, Swedish Parliament member, Cizia Wadby, said that her second visit to the Sahrawi Refugee Camps enabled her to renew her solidarity and support for a cause that “captures her heart.”

The Swedish parliamentarian said that she had heard a lot about the Sahrawi cause in the 1990s, but that she "really only took the measure after her first visit to the refugee camps".

She said that her visit was an opportunity to "witness the sufferings of the Sahrawi people and make them known in various international fora".

The Swedish activist also said that as a politician, "she feels responsible to address the Sahrawi cause and support the Sahrawi people until they regain their freedom."

The conference was marked by the participation of 13 states representing Algeria, Palestine, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Japan, Italy, Colombia, Croatia, Chile, the USA, Portugal, and Lithuania.
