Shaheed El-Hafed, December 8, 2024 (SPS) - The Polisario Front expressed its condemnation of the actions of certain members of the Security Council due to their overt support for the Moroccan occupation.
In a statement following the meeting of the Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, chaired by the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, the Bureau denounced the actions of some member states of the Security Council and others who call themselves friends of Western Sahara for their open and public support for the unlawful occupation of our country and their encouragement of the Moroccan occupier to continue its aggression, seize land by force, and alter internationally recognized borders, in complete disregard for the decisions of international and regional organizations and courts related to Western Sahara.
The statement added, "The Moroccan illegal occupation of parts of the territory of the Sahrawi Republic is considered a crime against humanity, and those parties and entities that specifically seek to plunder the Sahrawi national and natural resources bear the consequences, in blatant violation of international law and legitimacy."
The Permanent Bureau reaffirmed the Polisario Front's commitment to the inalienable and non-expiring rights of the Sahrawi people and called on the United Nations Security Council to empower the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara to carry out the task for which it was established.
