Auserd (refugee camps), October 20, 2024 (SPS) - The celebrations commemorating the 50th anniversary of the founding of the founding of Sahrawi Trade Union “UGTSARIO” began today, Sunday, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, members of the National Secretariat and the government and trade union delegations from various countries of the world.
The two-day celebrations, which will witness professional parades by units of the National Police, mobilization battalions, professional unions, and regional and local labor offices.
On the first day, exhibitions will also be opened, for delegations to learn about the Sahrawi pioneering labor experience in the context of the battles of liberation and construction.
The International Trade Union Forum for Solidarity with the Sahrawi People will also be opened this evening, with the attendance of international trade union delegations. The forum will address, over two days, a series of lectures, including the Sahrawi labor experience, the Sahrawi labor reality under occupation and in exile, and Sahrawi women and their pioneering role in the battle for liberation and construction.
