Occupied Laayoune, August 13, 2024 (SPS) – The Saharawi Committee for the Defense of the Self-Determination of the People of Western Sahara (CODAPSO) "strongly" condemned the brutal policies committed by the Moroccan occupation authorities against Sahrawi citizens in the occupied territories and southern Morocco.
The Sahrawi Association explained in a statement that these days, the Moroccan authorities are carrying out demolition and combing operations against Sahrawi properties in the occupied areas, especially in the city of Laayoune and its suburbs, using intimidation, fear and repression against Sahrawis both in the countryside and cities.
The statement added, "This demolition included combing the yards and buildings that belong to the Sahrawis in different areas of Laayoune city."
The association also confirmed that several houses on the beach (Labrarik) were burned and demolished by the Makhzen repressive authorities.
It stated that these acts of terror began in last February and are still ongoing to this hour, targeting Sahrawi lands, livestock and all sources of livelihood.
