Wilaya of El Aaiun, June 9, 2024 (SPS) - The Wilaya of El Aaiun hosted on Sunday the commemorative celebrations for the National Day of the Martyrs, the anniversary of the martyrdom of El-Ouali Mustafa Sayed, as well as the conclusion of the 2023/2024 academic year.
The event was attended by the President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Ghali, members of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front and the SADR Government, the General Staff of the Army, and state and Frente POLISARIO officials, as well as a delegation representing the civil and military authorities of Tindouf Province and a large crowd of residents of the Wilaya of El Aaiun.
The celebrations featured various artistic and folkloric performances by school groups and kindergartens, which highlighted the cultural traditions and customs that distinguish the Sahrawi people from other peoples.
The event provides an opportunity to draw lessons and moral sustenance to continue the path towards freedom and independence, and to evoke the deeds of the martyrs and the igniter of the immortal May 20 revolution, whose biography and march were full of confronting expansionist ambitions and mobilizing liberation forces to stand by the Sahrawi people.
