Nairobi, Kenya, May 9, 2024 (SPS) - Member of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Prime Minister, Mr. Bushraya Hamoudi Beyoun, arrived Wednesday evening in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, to participate in the second African Summit on Fertilizers and Soil Health on the continent. He was received by senior officials at the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as our ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Mohamed Limam Mohamed Ali.
The Prime Minister also was received by the Kenyan President, Mr. William Ruto, where he conveyed the greetings and regards of his Sahrawi counterpart. He affirmed the deep concern and genuine conviction of the President of the Republic, the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, and the Sahrawi government in enhancing cooperation between the two sister countries, the Republic of Kenya and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, in a way that fulfills the aspirations of the peoples of both countries and serves their interests in progress, prosperity, and peace.
It is expected that the Prime Minister will deliver a speech on Thursday at the closing session of the second African Summit on Fertilizers and Soil Health in front of the participants, including African heads of state and governments.
It is expected that the African agricultural summit will culminate in the approval of a ten-year action plan, which will provide tangible recommendations on the steps that African leaders and relevant stakeholders should take over the next decade to enhance soil health, increase crop yields, and improve agricultural profitability.
The Sahrawi Republic is represented by a high-level delegation led by Prime Minister Mr. Bushraya Hamoudi Beyoun, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Sidiati, Minister of Development Mr. Baba Ahmed Mohamed Yehdih Afdidi, Permanent Ambassador to the African Union, Mr. Lamine Baali, Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic to the Republic of Kenya, Mr. Mohamed Limam Mohamed Ali, and First Secretary of the Embassy of the Sahrawi Republic in the Republic of Kenya, Mr. Ala Sidahmed Omar.
