Bir Lahlou (Liberated Territories), December 14, 2023 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, sent a message of congratulations to his Angolan counterpart, Mr. João Lourenço, on the occasion of the celebration of the 67th anniversary of the founding of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola “MPLA”.
“I take this opportunity to convey to you, on behalf of the Polisario Front and the Sahrawi people, greetings on the occasion of this important anniversary, wishing the brotherly Angolan people best wishes, progress and prosperity” said the congratulatory message.
The President of the Republic renewed to his counterpart Mr. João Lourenço his commitment to continue strengthening and deepening the distinguished relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation that bind the two peoples and countries.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia El Hamra and Rio de Oro “POLISARIO” and the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola “MPLA” maintain strong and rooted relations dating back to the days of struggle in Angola. The Sahrawi Republic and Angola also maintain relations at the ambassadorial level, as the founder of the Angolan state, Dr. Agostinho Neto, decided to recognize the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic on March 11, 1976.
