CJEU's ruling, "great victory for Sahrawi cause," says Abi Bouchraya

Brussels, 30 September 2021 (SPS) - Polisario Front's National Secretary member for Europe and European Union, Abi Bouchara Bachir, on Wednesday described the ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) cancelling EU-Morocco Fisheries Partnership Agreement, as a "great victory for the Saharawi cause."
"The European Court has cancelled the two EU-Morocco Fisheries Partnership Agreements because they were in violation of the previous ruling of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU)," Abi Bouchara tweeted, calling the decision a "great victory for the Sahrawi cause."
The decision, he noted, came following the two actions for annulment brought by the Polisario Front in 2019.
The Court of Justice of the European Union said the Polisario Front, internationally recognized, was the only legal representative of Western Sahara people, who has the autonomy and responsibility to take action in the European court on behalf of the Saharawi people.
The Front’s participation in this process "implies that it has the autonomy and responsibility to act," said a statement from the Court of Justice of the European Union.
