Washington, 29 June 2015 (SPS) - US Department of State denounced, in its annual report 2014 on the situation of human rights in the world, the serious violations of human rights perpetrated by the Moroccan occupying forces in Western Sahara.

The report published recently broaches the intimidation experienced by the Sahrawi human rights activists claiming the right to self-determination, the persistence of arbitrary arrests in defiance of the law and the repression of freedom of expression by the Moroccan occupying authorities.

Refuting the information supplied by the Moroccan regime about the absence of Sahrawi political prisoners, the Department of State cited more than 60 Sahrawi political prisoners, 22 of whom are jailed since 2010 following the events of Gdeim Izik. (SPS)
