Boudjdour-(Sahrawi refugee camps), March 03, 2016 (SPS) -Coordinator of The Polisario front with the UN mission for the holding of a self-determination referendum in Western Sahara (Minurso) M'hamed Khaled dubbed "war crime" the murder by the Moroccan forces of a Sahrawi citizen in the liberated territories, stating that this crime is a "flagrant infringement of the IV Geneva conventions."

"This act is a clear war crime as it represents a flagrant infringement of the IV Geneva conventions, signed by the Polisario Front and Morocco, and provides that the murder of civilians in such circumstances represents a war crime," member of the Secretariat General of the Polisario Front Khedad said in a statement to the press in Boudjdour (Sahrawi refugee camps).

On last 27 February, the Moroccan occupation forces opened fir, without warning, on Sahrawi citizens in Gueltet Zemmour, a region where the use of weapons is forbidden, according to a ceasefire signed by the Polisario Front and Morocco in 1991. A citizen Sahrawi named Choummad Bad Jouli has been killed in this aggression.

The Secretary General of the UN "will be informed of this serious act" during his visit next Saturday to the Sahrawi refugee camps, Khedad said.

The Sahrawi party will require the protection of human rights, mainly in the Sahrawi occupied territories through the setting up of mechanisms guaranteeing the protection of the Sahrawi people's rights, the same official added.SPS
