Saharawi political prisoners continue unlimited hunger strike in Tiznit prison

Tiznit (Morocco), February 22, 2016 (SPS) The Saharawi political prisoners in Tiznit prison has continued their unlimited hunger strike for five days to protest against the deplorable conditions and arbitrary practices perpetrated against them by the prison administration, indicated a Saharawi judicial source.

 


"The Saharawi political prisoners began their hunger strike on 16 February to protest against the inhuman conditions and the total disregard of the Moroccan authorities of their legitimate demands, including their right to a fair trial and dropping all the charges against them," said the source.

 


The same source confirmed the deterioration of the health of the Saharawi political prisoner Abdullah Bukioud due to the unlimited hunger strike, adding that "the number of hunger strikers has risen after the decision of other Saharawi prisoners political to begin a hunger strike for 48 hours in solidarity with their colleagues."
