Association of Sahrawi Journalists and Writers in Europe condemns unfair sentence against Sahrawi media activist

Madrid, 18 May 2020 (SPS) - The Association of Sahrawi Journalists and Writers in Europe has condemned the unfair sentence issued by the so-called Court of Appeal of the Moroccan occupation against Sahrawi media activist, Khatri Faraji Bujama, of 20 years imprisonment, because of his political positions in favour of independence of Western Sahara and the self-determination of the Saharan people.

Sahrawi political prisoners subjected to deportation, mistreatment

Moroccan authorities prevent Basque MPs from entering occupied Western Sahara

El-Aaiun (Occupied Territories), 2 December 2019 (SPS) – The Moroccan authorities on Sunday prevented a group of Basque parliamentarians from entering the occupied capital of Western Sahara, El-Aaiun, and forced them to return on board the plane that took them from the Canary Islands.

The parliamentary group comprises Carmelo Barrio (PP), Josu Estarrona (EH Bildu), Íñigo Martínez (Elkarrekin Podemos) and Eva Juez (PNV).

Moroccan authorities arrest Sahrawi activist Mahfuda Lafkir

ُEl-Aaiun (Occupied Territories), 17 November 2019 (SPS) - The Moroccan occupation authorities arrested on Friday morning , in the occupied city of El-Aaiun, Sahrawi activist and human rights defender, Mahfuda Bamba Lafkir, while she was attending the trial of two young Sahrawis.

This arrest comes in retaliation for its positions on the just cause of the Sahrawi people and their right to self-determination and independence.
