The 8th Regional Conference of the Socialist and Freedom Party in Brasília ratifies a resolution supporting the just cause of the Sahrawi people

Brasília, September 19, 2023 (SPS) - The Eighth Regional Conference of the Socialist and Freedom Party in Brasília approved a resolution supporting the struggle of the Sahrawi people and their just cause.
The decision highlighted the legal and political arguments that confirm the necessity of recognizing the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, considering this one of the basic principles of peace, stability and justice in North Africa.
The conference called for concrete measures to be taken to end the colonization of Western Sahara, the last colony in Africa.
The Socialist and Freedom Party in Brasília expressed its unlimited support for the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people for their freedom and national independence, led by its sole legitimate representative, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia El Hamra and Rio de Oro, and the government of the Sahrawi Republic.
The Brazilian party denounced the Moroccan occupation of Western Sahara, demanding the release of all Sahrawi political detainees, urging the United Nations to end the military occupation in the region, and calling for holding a fair and impartial referendum that would allow the Sahrawi people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
In the same context, participants in the Eighth Regional Conference of the Socialist and Freedom Party expressed their support for the recognition of the Sahrawi Republic by the Federal Republic of Brazil, based on justice and international law.
This decision reflects the Brazilian party's commitment to supporting the Sahrawi cause and its call on the international community to end the colonization of Western Sahara in a just and peaceful manner.
