The Sahrawi ambassador to Algeria receives the outgoing Mozambican ambassador

Algeria, September 13, 2023 (SPS) - The member of the National Secretariat and the Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria, Mr. Abdelkader Taleb Omar, organized today a farewell ceremony in honor of the Ambassador of the Republic of Mozambique to Algeria and the Sahrawi Republic, Mr. Carvalho Muária, following the end of his duties as his country’s ambassador to both countries.
The Sahrawi ambassador appreciated the efforts made by Mr. Carvalho Muária during the performance of his duties as ambassador to Algeria and the Sahrawi Republic to develop and deepen relations of cooperation and solidarity with the Sahrawi people, wishing him and the Mozambican people more progress and prosperity.
The farewell ceremony was an opportunity for the Sahrawi ambassador to review the latest developments in the Sahrawi issue in light of the consultations held by the President of the Republic, the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, and the Special Envoy for Western Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, in addition to both the recent visit of the American delegation to the region and the visit of the Special Envoy for Western Sahara de Mistura to the occupied territories of Western Sahara after years of Moroccan obstacles.
The farewell ceremony was attended by a number of ambassadors from countries friendly to the Sahrawi people in Latin America and Africa.
At the conclusion of the farewell ceremony, the Sahrawi ambassador held a luncheon in honor of the ambassadors and presented an honorary gift to the Mozambican ambassador in appreciation of his solidarity work with the Sahrawi people.
