President of Republic receives in Caracas head of Venezuelan diplomacy

Caracas, 21 March 2023 (SPS) - President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, received, Monday in Caracas as part of his state visit to Venezuela, the Venezuelan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yvan Gil, with whom he discussed ways to strengthen the historical relations between the two countries.

The meeting, which took place in the presence of the Venezuelan Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Africa and the delegation accompanying the President of the Republic, was an opportunity to review the aspects of cooperation and the means of strengthening the historical relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, as well as the prospects for coordination and consultation on issues of common interest, especially on the African and Latin American scenes.

At the end of the meeting, the Venezuelan authorities organized a lunch in honor of the Saharawi president and the delegation accompanying him.

The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, began Sunday a state visit to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, at the invitation of its President, Mr. Nicolás Maduro.

The President of the Republic is accompanied by an important delegation comprising members of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, Mohamed Sidati and Fatima al-Mahdi, respectively Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Cooperation, as well as the Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, Abdati Breirika, the Ambassador in charge of Latin America and the Caribbean, Mohamed Zroug and ambassador to Venezuela, Mohamed Salem Rgueibi.

Venezuela recognized the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) as an independent state in August 1980 and in December 1982 the two countries established diplomatic relations, it should be recalled.
