President Brahim Ghali arrives in Cape Town for 2nd leg of his state visit to South Africa

Cape Town (South Africa), October 20, 2022 (SPS) - The President of the Republic and the Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, arrived, yesterday in Cape Town as part of the second leg of his state visit to South Africa.

President Brahim Ghali was received at the airport floor by the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture, Mr. Nathi Mthethwa, and senior officials in Cape Town.

The President of the Republic is expected to visit Robben Island, which was the prison of leader Nelson Mandela and hundreds of South African fighters who struggled against colonialism and apartheid.

He will also hold meetings with the parliamentary blocs, South African political and intellectual figures and representatives of South African civil society.

The President of the Republic is accompanied by an important delegation that included Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, Minister of Cooperation, Fatima Mehdi, Minister of Social Affairs and Promotion of Women, Sweilma Berouk, National Director of Security, Documentation and Protection of Institutions, Sidi Okal, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, Abdati Breika, Central Director of Operations and Inspection at the Ministry of National Defence, Abba Sheikh Mohamed, Ambassador to South Africa, Mohamed Yeslem Beiset.
