The struggle of the Sahrawi people is noble, honorable and deserves all support (South African President)

Pretoria (South Africa), October 18, 2022 (SPS) - The President of South Africa, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, stressed that the struggle of the Sahrawi people is an honorable struggle and deserves all support.

Cyril Ramaphosa said, during a press conference held with the President of the Sahrawi Republic, Mr. Brahim Ghali, who pays a state visit to South Africa, "that the state visit of President Brahim Ghali reflects the depth of the strategic relations that bind us with the Sahrawi Republic."

He added “that Africa will not be free as long as the Sahrawi people are under occupation”, reiterating his country's strong and firm position towards the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination.

Ramaphosa pointed out that "Africa's struggle for freedom and against colonialism is still continuing and will continue until the completion of the liberation of the Saharawi Republic," expressing his sense of shame because the international community is not doing enough to end the long-standing tragedy of the Saharawi people.

He concluded by reiterating that South Africa will continue to accompany the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people until the completion of sovereignty over their entire national territory.
