President Brahim Ghali receives credentials of the new South African ambassador to the Saharawi Republic

Chahid El-Hafed, August 19, 2022 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali, received today, Friday, at the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, the credentials of the new South African Ambassador to the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Mr. Ybele Lissidé Massitla.

Mr. Ybele Lissidé Massitla, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic Mr. Brahim Ghali, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of his country, South Africa, to the Sahrawi Republic, after being paid an honorary salute by units of the Sahrawi army.

Mr. Ybele Lissidé Massitla highlighted, in a statement to the press, that his country has a strong relations with the Sahrawi Republic, stressing to continue working on strengthening them until the Sahrawi people gain the right to self-determination and independence.  

He added “I came to present my credentials to the Sahrawi president as an extraordinary delegate of my country to the Sahrawi Republic, where I conveyed the greetings of the President Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, to his brother President Mr. Brahim Ghali”. He also said “the meeting was an opportunity to discuss regional and international issues of common interest."

The ceremony of presenting the credentials was held in the presence of the Sahrawi Minister of Cooperation Ms. Fatma Al-Mahdi, and the Chargé d'Affairs at the Embassy of South Africa.
