Geneva, Feb 18, 2022 (SPS) - The representative of the Frente POLISARIO to the UN in Geneva, Oumaima Abdel Salam, said on Thursday that the participation of the Saharawi state in the work of the European Union (EU)/African Union (AU) Summit, held in Brussels, was of "major political and legal importance" and constituted "an important step" towards the recovery of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) of its sovereignty over all its occupied territories.
The participation of the Saharawi State in this important international event, represented by its President Brahim Gali, is of "major political and legal importance", in addition to "its symbolism with the Saharawi people who are suffering because of the Moroccan occupation which is waging a war of destruction against them in addition to looting their natural resources through the conclusion of illegal economic agreements with the EU", citing, in this regard, the decisions of the European Court of Justice, said Ms. Oumaima Abdel Salam in a statement to APS.
