Gali reaffirms AU role in resolving the Western Sahara conflict

Chahid El-Hafed, Feb 15, 2022 (SPS) - The President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Mr. Brahim Gali, reaffirmed the importance of the role of the African Union (AU) in the search for a quick solution to the conflict in Western Sahara.
During his speech delivered at the meeting of the POLISARIO Permanent Bureau held last night, Gali presented a summary of the participation of the Saharawi delegation that took part in the Thirty-Fifth Summit of the AU in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, highlighting the responsibility of the continental organization in the Western Sahara conflict, since it is an African issue par excellence, and emphasizing the need to accelerate efforts to find a solution to this conflict between the Saharawi Republic and Morocco, in accordance with the Constitutive Act of the African Union and the Charter of the United Nations, particularly the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.
It should be remembered that Gali had participated in the aforementioned AU Summit, accompanied by an important delegation. SPS
