President of Republic attends 35th Summit of Heads of State and Government of African Union

Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), 5 February 2022 (SPS) -   President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, is taking part in the work of the 35th Summit of African Union Heads of State and Government, scheduled on Saturday and Sunday at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The summit is held under the theme “Building Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the African Continent: Strengthen Agriculture, Accelerate the Human Capital, Social and Economic Development,” in the presence of Heads of State and Government from the 55 AU Member States, the leadership and officials of the AU Commission, official of AU organs and bodies, as well as Heads and Representatives of the Regional Economic Communities.
The African Union will address during its 35th summit a number of issues, including those of peace, climate, production of anti-Covid vaccines in addition to new sensitive issues related to institutional instability on the continent.
The question of granting the Zionist entity observer status at the AU will also be debated during this 35th ordinary session.
The President of the Republic is accompanied by a delegation comprising Minister of Information, Government spokesperson, Hamada Salma, Counsellor to the Presidency of the Republic, Abdati Brika, Legal Counsellor to the Presidency of the Republic, Ahmed Sid Ali, Ambassador to South Africa, Mohamed Yaslam Bessat, Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Lamine Baali, Counsellor at the Embassy in Ethiopia and member of the Permanent Mission to the African Union, Amman Moloud, Media and Cultural Attaché at the Mission to the African Union, Wadadi Salek.
