Emergence of Omicron variant in neighboring countries: National Committee for Prevention against Covid-19 assesses epidemiological situation

Shahid Al Hafed, 26 December 2021 (SPS) - The National Committee for the Prevention against Covid-19 held Sunday a meeting to evaluate the epidemiological situation in the refugee camps and liberated territories in the wake of the emergence of cases of the Omicron variant in neighboring countries.
The meeting was chaired by Minister of Public Health, Ms. Khira Bulahi Abad, and a comprehensive assessment of the epidemiological situation was presented in the Sahrawi refugee camps and liberated territories, where it was stressed that preventive measures against the epidemic should continue to be implemented.
The meeting called on all citizens to go to vaccination centers to help reduce the spread of the epidemic and vaccinate the largest number of citizens, given the new epidemiological situation that the world is witnessing after the spread of the Omicron variant and its emergence in neighboring countries.
The meeting discussed a number of proposals regarding the efficacy of the vaccination program, as well as the continuation of awareness-raising programs aimed at citizens on the gravity of the epidemic.
