Dakhla (refugee camps), 12 December 2021 (SPS) – President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Polisario Front, Brahim Ghali, said Sunday in the Sahrawi refugee camps in Dakhla, that the Moroccan occupier is the origin of the conflict in El Guerguerat given the assaults he committed against the Sahrawi people.
Speaking at the opening of the 9th Congress of the General Union of Sahrawi Workers (UGTSARIO), Ghali said that ''the Moroccan occupier is the origin of the armed struggle in the region, not only by its colonial practices aiming at legitimizing the armed occupation, but also through the violation of the ceasefire agreement with the Sahrawi side, by attacking defenseless Sahrawi civilians and occupying new Sahrawi territories in the area of El-Guerguerat on November 13, 2020'.'
According to the Sahrawi President, ''peace and stability are not possible in the region, without the implementation of international law, through the United Nations Charter and the AU Constitutive Act which allows the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination and independence'.'
The Sahrawi President took the opportunity to pay tribute to the memory of the martyrs of the national cause, ''headed by the Shahid of freedom and dignity, El-Ouali Mustapha Sayed, and the Shahid President Mohamed Abdelaziz."
