Las Palmas (Spain), 11 November 2021 (SPS) - The Committee on Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Algerian People's National Assembly (Lower House) plans to hold a conference in Algiers bringing together international parliamentarians to discuss the Sahrawi issue, the committee Chairperson Mohamed Hani announced Friday in Las Palmas.
In coordination with our Sahrawi brothers, we plan to organize soon a meeting in Algiers “bringing together parliamentarians from various countries to discuss the rights of the Sahrawi people,” Hani told APS on the sidelines of the 45th European Conference of Support and Solidarity with the Sahrawi people (EUCOCO), held Friday and Saturday in Las Palmas (Gran Canaria, Spain).
I want to hold a conference similar to EUCOCO and invite "MPs who are not yet convinced by the Sahrawi cause.”
The idea, according to him, is to attract the maximum number of people and you can count on us to do so, he said.
The conference’s priority will be the reactivation of the inter-parliamentary network created in 2017 in solidarity with the Sahrawi people, whose operation has been somewhat slowed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
