CONASADH calls African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights to protect Sahrawi civilians

Occupied El Aaiún, April 21, 2021 (SPS) - The Sahrawi National Commission for Human Rights (CONASADH) called the African Commission for Human and Peoples' Rights (CADHP) to protect Sahrawi civilians from the growing violation and war crimes that the Moroccan occupation authorities have been committing in the occupied territories of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, mainly after their military aggression that caused the resumption of the war on November 13, 2020.
During his participation in the Sixty-Eighth Session of the ACHPR, the president of CONASADH, Abba Al-Heisan, renewed “the urgent need to dismantle the military wall of Moroccan occupation that divides the Sahrawi people and their territory, surrounded by millions of antipersonnel mines. and other internationally prohibited explosive devices, considered a crime against humanity that affects not only human beings, but also the habitat of animals and the environment in general ”.
At the end of his speech, Mr. Abba Al-Heisan reminded the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights of its “responsibility towards the Sahrawi people, including the protection of civilians and their natural resources, stressing that it is their duty not to spare no effort to achieve justice and equity, ensuring that international legality and human values prevail in the territory of the last colony in Africa ”.
