Sahrawi people commemorates fall of first martyr in presence of President of Republic

Smara (Refugee Camps), 8 March 2021 (SPS) - The Sahrawi people on Monday commemorated the 47th anniversary of the fall of the first Sahrawi martyr Al-Bashir Lalawi, who fell in the field of honor on March 8, 1974, in the presence of President of the Republic, Secretary-General of the Polisario Front, Mr. Brahim Ghali.

The event was hosted by the wilaya of Smara, Sahrawi refugee camps, and attended, along with the President of the Republic, by members of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front, the Sahrawi government, political and military leaders and families of martyrs.

The event witnessed a tribute to some of the families of the martyrs and an occasion to evoke their sacrifices through a gesture of appreciation and a reminder to those who gave everything precious and valuable for the sake of the country and its sovereignty. (SPS)
