CONASADH corresponds with ICRC´s president on catastrophic situation in OOTT of Western Sahara

Bir Lahlou, Feb 18, 2021 (SPS) -the Sahrawi Committee for Human Rights sent Wednesday a letter to the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding the dangerous conditions in the occupied areas of Western Sahara marked by brutal violation of human rights defenders by Moroccan occupying forces.
The Sahrawi Committee has urged the Red Cross Committee to activate its role within the framework of international humanitarian law and the requirements of the relevant Geneva Conventions, and move quickly before it is too late, to stop this aggression against the Sahrawi innocent.
Conasadh has urgently appealed ICRC to undertake a field visit to the occupied areas of Western Sahara to view closely the situation of Sahrawi civilians inside an occupied territory.
The committee denounced the catastrophic human rights situation in the occupied territories and the oppression of unarmed Sahrawis at the hands of the Moroccan occupation security services, the latest of which was what happened to Sultana Khaya and her family.SPS
