Frente POLISARIO: Sahrawi cause has taken new turning point since Nov. 13

Chahid El Hafed, Jan 21 2021 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO representative to the United Nations Sidi Mohamed Amar affirmed that the Sahrawi cause had taken a new turning point since November 13 by continuing the armed struggle, adding that participation in any negotiation operation was dependent on developments on the ground.
Sidi Amar told a press conference held on Tuesday on the developments of the Sahrawi question, following the resumption of the fight army, said that "the Sahrawi people are counting on their resistance and their resolution to wrest their entire rights."
The "Sahrawi cause began a new phase after November 13, date of Morocco violation of the ceasefire agreement and the continuation of the armed struggle."
"Any participation in any negotiation operation remains dependent on developments on the ground and the seriousness of the UN Security Council," he said.
"The only solution to the Sahrawi conflict consists in guaranteeing our people their intangible right to freedom and independence," insisted the Sahrawi diplomat, affirming that "there is currently no negotiation."
In addition, he said that the position of Morocco is behind the delay in the appointment of a UN new envoy in Western Sahara.
 Sidi Amar reaffirmed the right of the Frente POLISARIO to defend itself by all legitimate means including armed struggle, adding that the POLISARIO remains open to any possible peaceful solution ensuring firm respect for the right of the Sahrawi people to independence."
 Regarding the human rights situation induced by the constant violation of these rights by Morocco in the occupied cities, the same Sahrawi official declared "it is France which hinders the establishment of a UN mechanism to monitor them." SPS
