Shaheed Al Hafed, 12 December 2020 (SPS) - The Palestinian Political Affairs Specialist, Dr. Chaker Chabat Abu Imad, indicated that normalizing ties between Israelí and Morocco in return for Trump’s recognition of Morocco’s alleged sovereignty over Western Sahara “is contrary to the international law”, adding that this proclamation “stirs the Saharawi people’s feelings.”
Speaking to SPS, the Palestinian academic called on the Saharawi people to show more determination to confront the Moroccan occupation.
Dr. Chaker considered Trump deal with Moroccan occupation “a disgrace” to the Moroccan regime, who abandoned the Palestinian issue.
He went on saying that the free people in Palestine and throughout the Arab nation are standing by the side of the Saharawi people.
The Palestinian academic noted that Trump’s proclamation was widely condemned by Palestinian political figures and civil society organizations. (SPS)
