Western Sahara question: New stage of accelerating search for solution

Submitted on

Algiers, 7 December 2020 (SPS) - Sahrawi Ambassador to Algeria Abdelkader Taleb Omar said Sunday in Algiers that the assault Morocco has launched last November 13th in El-Guerguerat (south-west of Western Sahara) marked a new stage of Western Sahara question as the search for a solution is accelerating after years of inertia.
The Sahrawi ambassador has received a delegation from the Algerian Youth Association.
After years of inertia, a dynamic was created by the continuous bombardments against the Moroccan army positions and the moral, human and economic losses inflicted on the Moroccan occupation, said the Sahrawi diplomat, adding that these losses will be significant for the Moroccan regime even if it tries to hide them.
"The Sahrawi military response to the Moroccan aggression is only the prelude", he said, recalling in this regard that "the Sahrawis have fought against the Moroccan army for 16 years."
According to him, "the battles will very soon experience new developments so that the Moroccan regime understands that it cannot hide all these realities ".
In the same context, the Sahrawi ambassador welcomed the demonstrations staged in all the capitals around the world by the Sahrawi people who expressed their indignation at the Moroccan aggression, as well as the international reactions from parties, associations, organizations and States which continue to come in and express their firm rejection of the aggression.
