El-Guerguerat: Morocco hides losses against Sahrawi army

Shaheed El Hafed, 05 December 2020 (SPS) - Secretary General at the Sahrawi Security Ministry Sidi Ould Oukal affirmed Thursday that Morocco hides its losses against the Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) since the violation of the ceasefire agreement and the aggression against the Sahrawi civilians in the region of El-Guerguerat in November, said the Sahrawi news agency SPS.
In a statement to the Sahrawi media outlets, Sidi Oukal underlined that “Morocco hides its losses in the war that resumed on 13 November after the violation of the ceasefire agreement, signed in 1991 under the auspices of the United Nations,” said the source.
This maneuver by Morocco “is due to several factors notably the fear of recognizing the other side and its precarious economic situation,” adding that “the construction of a wall surrounding the occupied city of Smara by Morocco is a proof that the latter starts feeling its losses and defeats.”
“SPLA’s attacks will continue until the achievement of the supreme objective, that is independence,” he stressed.
SPLA’s units continued the intense attacks on bases and positions of the Moroccan occupation army along the military wall of El-Guerguerat, according to the communiqué no21 of the Sahrawi Defense.
The attacks caused significant material and human losses in the ranks of the Moroccan occupation forces along the wall of the shame, added the source.  (SPS)
