SADR partakes in ordinary session of AU specialized committee on justice and legal affairs

Shaheed Al-Hafed, 24 November (SPS) - The Saharawi Republic (SADR) takes part at the sixth ordinary session of the Specialized Technical Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs of the African Union, held in the period from November 23rd until December 1st, 2020.
The meeting, organized vía visual communication technology, will examine the draft protocol attached to the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights on specific aspects related to the right to nationality in Africa.
It will also discuss the proposed amendment to Article 22 Paragraph 01 of the AU Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption and other instruments, including the Protocol attached to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights on the rights of citizens to social protection and social security.
The committee examined the draft rules of procedures for the ministerial committee concerned with the implementation of Agenda 2063, as well as the draft model law on the protection of cultural property and heritage.
The African experts on legal affairs will discuss the proposed amendments to the Statute of the AU Commission on International Law and draft framework for the implementation of the judgments of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights. (SPS)
