CONASADH calls on the African Commission for Human and Peoples' Rights to urgently to release all Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan prisons

Chahid El Hafed, July 14, 2020 (SPS) - The Sahrawi National Commission for Human Rights, called for urgent action to release all Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan prisons in the works of the 66th session of the African Commission for Human and Peoples' Rights through the virtual space
the President of the Sahrawi Commission has briefed the participants on the efforts of the Sahrawi state since the outbreak of the pandemic, through a  series of precautionary and preventive measures, noting the response of Sahrawi citizens to its, commending the sisterly Algeria for its multifaceted solidarity, recalling the humanitarian assistance related to building a field hospital in the Sahrawi refugee camps devoted to this purpose.                            
Abba Heissan expressed Conasadh's concern over the danger posed by the spread of the coronavirus in the occupied territories of the Sahrawi Republic, which threaten the life of the Sahrawi population living under occupation, especially in the prison institutions in Morocco.
The President of the Sahrawi Commission held the Moroccan state fully responsible for the life of Sahrawi civilian prisoners, calling on the African Commission for Human and Peoples' Rights within its mandate to intervene urgently to end the suffering of Sahrawi civilian prisoners to protect them and release them.
He has asserted the necessity of implementing the decision taken by the Executive Council of the African Union (Resolution EX.CL/Dec.775 (XXIII) and EX.CL / 1164 (XXV), which calls on the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights to perform its mission and visiting the occupied lands in the Sahrawi Republic to investigate the dangerous and disturbing reality of the situation of human rights and peoples.SPS
