ICRC & UN are called to save lives of Sahrawi civilian prisoners in Moroccan prisons from Corona pandemic

Paris (France) March 24, 2020 (SPS) - The French Friendship and Solidarity Association with the Peoples of Africa, has appealed the International Committee of the Red Cross and the United Nations to intervene with the Moroccan authorities to assess the health status of civilian prisoners, the Gdeim Izik group.
The French Association has also called upon the said international NGOs to take the necessary measures to release them in order to avoid a humanity catastrophe, especially in the terrible spread of the Corona pandemic in various countries.
the President of the Association, Mr. John Paul Escofi, warned that  the danger facing Sahrawi political prisoners in Moroccan prisons, because of the Corona pandemic, which is likely to spread in various places, especially those designated for detention that do not respect  the basic conditions and duties of prevention and security Healthy. The message sent this morning by
"the deterioration of the health status of the political prisoners as a result of the acts of torture and ill-treatment, and the denial of access to health care constitute high risk of infection with the emerging coronavirus, which is spreading widely in Morocco.” The organization notes. (SPS)
