Tfariti (Liberated Territories), 22 December 2019 (SPS) - A large Algerian delegation is taking part in the 15th Congress of the Polisario Front, being held from 19 to 23 December in the liberated territories, Tfariti.
The Algerian-Western Saharan Friendship Group, which also represents the People's National Assembly (Lower House), is accompanied by parliamentarians from different political parties, in addition to senators.
The Algerian delegation also includes the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Saharawi People (CNASPS), in addition to representatives of civil society, including associations and movements in solidarity with the Saharawi cause, as well as the National Union of Algerian Women (UNFA).
"In view of all the human rights violations against the Sahrawi people in the occupied Sahrawi territories and the plundering of Sahrawi resources by Morocco despite the prohibition by international justice of the exploitation of these resources, we reiterate our support and solidarity with this noble cause," President of the Algerian-Western Sahara Friendship Group, Saida Brahim Bounab, told APS.
In this regard, Bounab referred to the role of Saharawi women "symbol of courage and activism," praising the Saharawi women who went out to celebrate the victory of Algeria after winning the African Cup of Nations.
In a letter addressed to the Sahrawi Congress, read by Bounab, the Secretary General of the National Liberation Front (FLN) party by interim, Ali Seddiki, reiterated the party's support for this noble cause of the last colonized country in Africa, and its commitment to the referendum on self-determination and freedom.
Many Algerian speakers reiterated with one voice, during the first two days of this 15th edition of the Congress of the Polisario Front, the stable and unchanged Algerian position towards the right of the Saharawi people to exercise its right to self-determination. (SPS)
