Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain), 24 November 2019 (SPS) -The 44th European Conference of Support and Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (EUCOCO) denounced Saturday in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the European Union (EU) for its blatant complicity with the Moroccan occupier in the looting of Sahrawi natural resources.
"The Moroccan regime does not account for its so-called administration to the UN General Assembly, which would be an obligation if it were a recognized administering power, because the true administering power, in law, remains Spain," the 44th Eucoco stressed in its conclusion on Sahrawi natural resources.
The Conference recalled, in its conclusion, that "Spain abandoned this territory (Western Sahara) in November 1975, when it signed the Madrid Agreements with Morocco and Mauritania, which then shared the territory."
Spain, as a colonial power engaged in the decolonization process, "has thus abandoned the Sahrawi people to whom it owed protection," added EUCOCO concluded. (SPS)
