Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain), 24 November 2019 (SPS) - The 44th European Coordinating Conference of Support to the Sahrawi People (EUCOCO) welcomed the “unfailing” support of the Algerian people and their institutions to the inalienable right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination.
The 44th EUCOCO “welcomes the unfailing support of the Algerian people and their institutions that showed solidarity with the Sahrawi people,” said the Conference in its final declaration at the wrap up of its works on Saturday in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
It also thanked “the Algerian delegation for its active presence within the solidarity movement.”
The Algerian delegations, representing notably the People’s National Assembly, the Council of the Nation and the Algerian National Committee of support to Sahrawi People (CNASPS), took part in this 44th edition.
The Conference, said the Declaration, “welcomes and supports the efforts made by the African Union (AU) to contribute to the end of the occupation of Western Sahara by Morocco and the completion of the decolonization process of the African continent.”
“The year 2020 will be the opportunity for the holding of a major international meeting of jurists in order to reinforce the legitimacy of the Sahrawi people’s struggle for the respect of their basic rights,” said the source. (SPS)
