Head of CNASPS reaffirms Algeria’s firm position regarding Sahrawi question

Vigo (Spain), 5 October 2019 (SPS)- President of the Algerian National Committee of Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (CNASPS), representative of the civil society, Mahrez Lamari, reaffirmed Algeria's unwavering support for the legitimate struggle of the Sahrawi people.

Addressing an International Conference of Cities of Solidarity with the Sahrawi People, held in Spain’s Vigo (Galicia), Mahrez Lamari said that the participation of an Algerian delegation, composed of representatives of the civil society and presidents of municipalities, "confirmed the position of Algeria with regard to the struggle of the Sahrawi people.”

It also confirmed an “etched principle as part of Algeria's support to international law, concerning Western Sahara decolonization," registered at the UN.

He added that Algeria position vis-à-vis the struggle of the Sahrawi people for freedom and independence stems from the principles of the Glorious Revolution of November 1st and its commitments to liberation issues.

Lamari affirmed "the availability of the Algerian delegation to act in concert with the other mayors participating in this event as a movement of solidarity, a united and strong movement to support the Sahrawi people in their development endeavor and strengthening the institutions of the Sahrawi Republic, through the creation of partnership and cooperation among different provinces, municipalities and localities in the refugee camps and the liberated territories."
