Frente POLISARIO applauds African Union's persistent positions for decolonization of last African colony

Shaheed al-Hafeed, August 24, 2019 (SPS) - The Frente POLISARIO’s National Secretariat welcomed the African Union's constant stances on the need to complete the decolonization of the last African colony, calling for resolving the conflict between the two neighboring countries, which are members of the continental organization, the Sahrawi Republic and the Kingdom of Morocco, ensuring compliance with the Constitutive Act of the African Union, in particular respect for the borders inherited in the wake of independence and respect for the sovereignty of the member States.
In the statement following its special session, held on 21, 22, an 23 August, chaired by President of the Republic, Secretary General of the Frente POLISARIO, Brahim Ghali, the National Secretariat saluted the firm and principled position of the Algerian government and people, which is based on a distinguished relationship of brotherhood, friendship and eternal alliance, and reflects essentially a firm adherence to the requirements of international legitimacy and respect for the right of peoples to self-determination and independence.
The National Secretariat also expressed full satisfaction and appreciation of the brotherly, friendly and neighborly relations and the level of cooperation and coordination between the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and the Sahrawi Republic. (SPS)
