Algeria, July 23, 2019 (SPS) - Sahrawi Foreign Minister, Mohamed Salem Ould Salek, said in a press conference held at the Embassy of the Sahrawi Arab Republic in Algiers today that the violations and repression suffered by the Saharawi people in the occupied areas are a direct result of the Moroccan siege backed by French support within the Security Council.
The Saharawi Minister, who has held press conference along the Ambassador of the Sahrawi Republic in Algeria, Mr. Abdelkader Talab Omar, said that Morocco systematically oppressed against the Saharawi people in the occupied territories as a result of the military siege and the isolation imposed by the occupation regime on Saharawi citizens behind the Moroccan wall of shame.
Saharawi diplomacy’s head went on saying that the French position stands in the face of any attempt within the UN Security Council to expand the powers of MINURSO to include the protection and monitoring of human rights.SPS
