Saharawi Representative to Mexico meets President of the Republic Senate Board

Mexico City, October 04, 2018 (SPS) - The Representative of the Saharawi Republic, Mr. Ahmed Muley Aali Hamdi was received in audience by Senator Martí Batres Guadarrama, President of the Board of the Senate of the Republic of Mexico .
The meeting focused on the current situation of the conflict, in particular on the efforts of the UN through its Envoy Horst Köhler, the obstacles imposed by the Moroccan occupation in the way of the peace process and its lack of good will to negotiate a way out to the conflict that enable the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination in accordance with the UN Charter.
The situation of human rights in the Occupied territories of Western Sahara and the plundering of Sahrawi natural resources through agreements vetoed by international law and by the European Court of Justice itself was also addressed.
The Saharawi diplomat held a working meeting with Senator Solomon Jara, member of the Asia-Pacific-Africa Commission, where the bilateral relations were reviewed.SPS
