RASD takes parts at Belize's independence commemoration

Belmopan, Sept 19, 2018 (SPS) - The Saharawi Republic represented by ambassador, Suleiman Tieb Henan, was received on Tuesday upon his arrival at the Belize airport by a Secretary of State, as Special Envoy of the Saharawi Government, in the Official Celebration Acts of the 37th Anniversary of Independence of that brother country, scheduled to be from Sept 18 to 21.
Saharwi diplomat held a Bilateral Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belize, His Excellency Wilfred Elrington, to whom he transmitted a written message from the Saharawi President, Brahmin Gali addressed to the Prime Minister of Belize, S.E. Dean Barrow.
For his part, Chancellor of Belize reiterated to the Saharawi Envoy the firm position of his Government in supporting the struggle of the Saharawi people and the achievement of a solution based on self-determination and independence of the Saharawi people.
The Sahrawi Ambassador broached his interlocutors on the current situation of Western Sahara, expressing to the Minister his satisfaction with the work of the Personal Envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations to revival the process of the negotiations between the parties.
In the following days, Ambassador Tieb Henan will participate in the State Receptions offered by the Governor and the Prime Minister of Belize, as well as in the other official acts of the Commemoration of Independence. SPS
