Chahid El Hafed (Sahrawi Refugee Camps), June 28, 2018 (SPS) - Sahrawi President, Secretary General of the Frente POLISAIO Brahim Gali affirmed Tuesday, at the headquarters of the Sahrawi Presidency in Chahid El Hafedh, that his talks with the United Nations Secretary General’s Personal Envoy for Western Sahara Horst Kohler were “honest” concerning the implementation of the recommendation of the Security Council made in April 2018.
In a statement to the press following his talks with Kohler, the Sahrawi President said that the talks were “honest” notably concerning the implementation of the Security Council’s recommendation made in April 2018 on the need to relaunch negotiations between the two parties to the conflict, the Polisario Front and Morocco.
“The relaunch of negotiations will allow paving the way for the Sahrawi people to exercise their right to self-determination,” he added, pointing out that the talks with Kohler were a favorable opportunity to broach the different “obstacles hindering the implementation of the UN decisions relating to the Sahrawi issue and to examine the best ways to implement them.”SPS
