Canary Coalition reaffirms its support to UN-AU peace process

Tenerife (Spain), March 15, 2018 (SPS) - The political party that governs the Canary Islands, Canary Coalition, reaffirmed its support for the peace process, led by the United Nations and the African Union, to resolve the conflict in Western Sahara, enabling the Saharawi people to exercise their right to self-determination.
The statements were made during a meeting in the municipality of Orotava, between the Secretary General of the Canary Coalition, Francisco Linares and the delegate of the Frente POLISARIO in the Canary Islands, Hamdi Mansur.
The meeting addressed the situation in the Saharawi refugee camps and the relations between Saharawi and Canarian institutions,  human rights in the Occupied Areas, the contacts carried out by the international mediator  as well as the national cause at the level of the African and European Union, particularly the recent ruling of the European Court of Justice.
The meeting was attended  by local authorities and members of the Saharawi diaspora in Tenerife. SPS
